He was a former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, Cairo-Egypt (1996-2007). He was a full professor Dr.of Computer Science at Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University from 1989 to 1996. He was a Director of Scientific Computing Center at Ain Shams University (1984-1990).In 1996 he was moved to the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at the same university. Ahmed Sharaf Eldin is among the first generation of the computer people in Egypt. He obtained his Ph. D. in Computer Science from Loughborough University in UK. His first degree was in Engineering from Cairo University. His postgraduate studies span over several fields of knowledge: computer science, statistics, operations research, management, and Islamic studies. He obtained the Cairo University prize in 1971and in 2017. He is a co-inventor of a programmable calculator 1978. Obtained several prizes from different universities and professional bodies. He published more than 150 scientific and technical papers in international and national journals and conferences.

Dawson has researched in artificial intelligence and machine learning since 1993. During this time, he has authored over 120 articles, research papers and books. He has been involved in grants amounting to over Â£100k, successfully supervised seven PhD students in related areas and is journal editor of computational intelligence and neuroscience. He completed a PhD in Geometry and Topology at Moscow State University in 2003 and was awarded the Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship in Combinatorial Knot Theory and the EPSRC grant Persistent Topological Structures in Noisy Images.His current interests are in Topological Data Analysis, which quantifies persistent structures hidden in unorganised data such as clouds of points. Mr. Christoph Guger, received his PhD degree in 1999. The topic of his PhD work was the design of an EEG-based brain-computer interface. He was studied biomedical engineering at the University of Technology Graz and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA. He then carried out research work at the Department of Medical Informatics (Prof. Pfurtscheller) at the University of Technology Graz. This was the first real-time BCI system with continuous feedback. He also developed the real-time analysis with common spatial patterns, which is still the fastest and most accurate approach for oscillatory BCIs, and also developed a P300 BCI with very high accuracy and speed. In recent years, he also worked with a wide variety of patients in different countries. He has been the CEO of GTEC since it was founded.

Previously, he has studied and worked at University of Central Lancashire, University of Manchester and King's College London. Chen's main researches focus on motion analysis in radiology imaging and machine learning methods for medical image segmentation and disease biomarkers quantification. He developed techniques for automatic construction of statistical shape and motion models of bones in articulated joint from CT images, a novel method for respiratory motion correction in MRI, and an automatic nerve fibre quantification tool which enables early detection of peripheral neuropathy for diabetic patients.
